As the CEO of School-Home Support (SHS), you'll lead a mission-driven organisation that has been dedicated to transforming young people's lives for over 40 years, ensuring they return to school and thrive.

About the Organisation

School-Home Support (SHS) tackles the fundamental issues leading to poor school attendance and disengagement. These challenges range from poverty and domestic abuse to housing insecurity and parental mental health issues, all of which have been exacerbated by the pandemic and the most severe cost of living crisis in decades. SHS practitioners work directly with children, families, and schools to break the cycles of disadvantage.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Driving strategic innovation and sustainable growth
2. Leading a talented team and fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance
3. Overseeing fundraising, revenue generation, and stakeholder engagement
4. Representing SHS in public forums and advocating for its mission
5. Ensuring financial sustainability and operational excellence
6. Collaborating with the Board of Trustees to deliver on SHS’s strategic objectives

About You

1. You’re an experienced and inspiring leader from the charity, education, or public sector and bring:
2. Proven senior charity leadership experience is essential. While direct experience in education, family support, or youth services would be advantageous, it is not essential.
3. Strategic thinking with innovation and change management skills with a track record enabling growth and development
4. Success in fundraising, including traditional fundraising, developing sustainable earned income streams and diversifying funding sources
5. Excellent communication and advocacy abilities
6. A deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and SHS’s mission
7. You’ll have a commercial mindset, be proactive, resilient and ready to lead with purpose.

Role Details

Location: London (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £75,357 - £79,568 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Reporting to: Chair of the Board of Trustees

Pension, Life Assurance, Employee Assistance Programme.
